Since 2023, the Aachen Alliance 'Diplomacy instead of weapons and sanctions' has been awarding the 'Aachen Award for Humanity'. The reason for founding the 'Aachen Award for Humanity' was the awarding of the Charlemagne Prize to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj in 2023.
Most people associate the Charlemagne Prize with a peaceful Europe. The fact that a president of a European state, of all people, who broke off successful peace negotiations under pressure from NATO and thus allowed the war in Europe to continue, should receive the Charlemagne Prize was an occasion to set an antithesis. This year, Heinrich Habig, a doctor who helped his patients with masks and mRNA injections during the corona measures, is being honored. He spent 16 months in custody and was sentenced to a total of five years and one month in prison.
This sentence was later reduced to three years and two months. Heinrich Habig receives this award on behalf of the many doctors who courageously stood up for their patients and were sentenced to prison as a result. On 13.5.2026 he was released from prison early. We cordially invite you to participate in this award and honor the courageous doctors.
