Top immunologist Prof. Radbruch in a statement to the Health Committee of the German Bundestag
In a statement dated 21.03.2022 to the Health Committee of the German Bundestag, immunologist Prof. Dr. Andreas Radbruch, former President of the "German Society for Immunology" and member of the "Leopoldina", considers mandatory vaccination to be ineffective in reducing the number of infections in future waves
.He cites immunological explanations based on current studies. On the one hand, the protection provided by vaccinations and, in particular, boosters is only very short (a few weeks to months) and the viral load is correspondingly high in the event of a breakthrough infection. Secondly, there is a kind of saturation effect in the immune system and the more often the vaccinations are boosted, the greater the effect. Immediately after a 4th vaccination, protection is only between 11 and 30%, and a further booster no longer provides any protection at all. On the other hand, the side effects become more frequent and more severe with each additional vaccination due to immunological processes.
"In this sense, vaccinating twice or recovering once is better than vaccinating three times in order to maintain the adaptability of immunological memory. Compulsory vaccination will make it more difficult to respond appropriately to future waves of infection" says Prof. Radbruch.
